    SaveMP3 Privacy Policy

    Last updated: May 13, 2026

    Summary

SaveMP3 is a free, ad-free online tool that converts videos from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (X), Vimeo, Dailymotion, VK, and SoundCloud into MP3 files. You do not need an account to use it.

We do not run advertising on the conversion pages and we do not sell visitor data to third parties. The only third-party service loaded on the site is Google Analytics, which we use to understand which pages are visited and to fix performance issues. Loading is delayed until you interact with the page.

This policy describes what data we process when you use SaveMP3, why we process it, and how long we keep it. If anything is unclear, contact us at [email protected].

    Data we process

When you submit a video URL to convert, we process the URL you pasted, the resulting audio file metadata, and your IP address. The IP address is used to apply rate limits and to detect abuse; it is not associated with a user account because there are no accounts.

When you load any page on the site we process standard request data: IP address, user agent, referring URL, the page path, and a session identifier set in a first-party cookie. This is the data every web server processes by default.

If you contact us at [email protected] we will see the email address you wrote from and the contents of your message. We use this only to reply to you and we do not add the address to a mailing list.

    What we do not collect

We do not run third-party advertising networks on the converter pages. There are no advertising cookies, advertising web beacons, or remarketing pixels set by us.

We do not require an account. We do not ask for a name, phone number, address, payment information, or any other profile data, because we do not need them to provide the service.

We do not store the audio files you create after they have been delivered to your browser. Conversion is ephemeral: the file is generated on demand, served once, and discarded.

    Cookies and similar technologies

We set a first-party session cookie (named savemp3_io_session) and a CSRF protection cookie (XSRF-TOKEN). Both are strictly necessary for the site to function — they let your browser submit a conversion form safely. They are not shared with third parties.

We store your visual preferences (dark mode, clear UI, selected bitrate) in your browser's localStorage. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies after you interact with the page. You can block these in your browser settings or with a content blocker; the converter will continue to work normally.

    Third-party services

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage. The Google Analytics tag is loaded only after you interact with the page (click, scroll, key press, or touch) to reduce its performance impact.

Static assets (CSS, JavaScript, images) are served through Cloudflare's content delivery network. Cloudflare may process your IP address and request metadata for security and network performance.

We do not embed advertising-network scripts, social-media tracking pixels, or remarketing tags.

    How long we keep data

Converted audio files are not retained after delivery.

Request logs (IP, user agent, URL) are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes, then deleted.

Google Analytics retains aggregate event data for up to 14 months under our configured retention setting.

Support emails are retained for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

    Legal basis (GDPR)

For EU/UK visitors: we process strictly necessary data (request logs, session cookies) on the legal basis of legitimate interest in operating a free public web service and preventing abuse. Analytics cookies are loaded only when you interact with the page; in interaction-blocking regions we recommend using a content blocker or opting out at the analytics level.

    Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to processing, to request a copy of your data in a portable format, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

Because we do not require an account, the data we hold about any specific visitor is limited to recent request logs that include the visitor's IP address. To exercise rights effectively, include the IP address you accessed the site from and an approximate date range.

    California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise your rights, contact [email protected].

    Children

SaveMP3 is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

    Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page and, for material changes, post a notice in the site footer for at least 30 days.
